Burned Body- Naomi Punk

Check out this video made Robin Stein using stop motion and triangular cuts through images set to the rhythm of the song 'Burned Body' by Captured Tracks' newest signing- the noisy Naomi Punk from Olympia, Washington. This is the fifth track of trio's 12 inch LP “The Feeling” which was out on Couple Skate Records on April 24th this year as vinyl-only edition of 300. Captured Tracks will re-release band's debut on October 16th in digital form (on iTunes) and 8 days later on CD and LP.

Overgrown Path - Chris Cohen

Following albums by projects The Curtains and Cryptacize, prolific Ex-Deerhoof member Chris Cohen brings his lush vocals and songwriting expertise to the forefront with his first solo album. Cohen's music is similar to the last work he did with Deerhoof, The Runners Four, although the record carries a heavy psychedelia influence, and stand-out track 'Caller no.99' recalls a tamed Tame Impala.

Check out a full stream of the record below, courtesy of label Captured Tracks.
The album is released today (25th September), and can be bought direct from Captured Tracks here.

Oshin - DIIV

Stream the great album 'Oshin' from Brooklyn's DIIV, formerly known simply as Dive, which will be officially out on June 26th on Captured Tracks (probably one of my favourite labels currently, with artists such as Wild Nothing, Craft Spells, Blouse, Soft Moon and many more on board) on cd and lp (you can pre-order it here). After DIIV's first release, the Sometime 7" (Sometime + Corvalis) released in October 2011, there was no doubt that this band will be something great and I guess it's nothing surprising with Beach Fossils guitarist Cole Smith as a four-piece group's frontman. I really recommend to lay down, close your eyes, relax and thoroughly drown in the sounds of DIIV's dreamy shoegaze with a hint of pessimism.

Shadow - Wild Nothing

Wild Nothing became one of my 2011 favourites and although i don't listen to so much of it anymore (well, i still do, but not to such an extreme!) i couldn't be more excited for the announcement of the new release! This is the new track from Jack Tatum's project's upcoming album 'Nocturne' out on August 28th and also on limited edition of 7" soon on Captured Tracks. 'Shadow' can't be compared to 'Golden Haze' or some tracks from 'Gemini', however, it's still a really good song and the anticipation for the album makes up for everything. Immediately after hearing this I checked out Wild Nothing's shows and was quite disappointed to discovered that he's touring only US this summer. Hopefully coming to UK in November as the support for The Walkman (come on! no need to support...).
